President: Maya Hairston
As President, Maya oversees all operations including board meetings, GBMs, social events, and the annual Raymond Pace Alexander Conference.
A rising Junior in the College, Maya is studying English and Music. At Penn, Maya is also a member of Discord A Capella. She is from Malvern, Pennsylvania.
Maya joined BPLA during her Freshman year. HER favorite aspect of BPLA is that the community manages to support and uplift one another in a family environment while, simultaneously, being so pre-professional.
Fun fact: Maya would be 100% okay with eating just pasta for the rest of her life.
VP of Internal Affairs: Greer Bizzell-Hatcher
Greer is responsible for coordinating our relationships with on-campus and off-campus organizations as well as facilitating professional networks.
She is a rising senior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Law and Society and Africana Studies. Her hometown is New York, NY. She is our Vice President of Internal Affairs, as well as a member of BARS, Friars Senior Society, and an Honors Psychology student. Greer enjoys going to museums and reading Toni Morrison in her free time. After graduating from Penn, she hopes to continue her engagement in criminal justice and education reform by pursuing a joint JD/Ph.D. in Psychology.
A fun fact about Greer is that her favorite cooking show growing up was Good Eats because it always mentioned the science and culture behind every dish!
VP of External Affairs: Wendi Stennis
As VP Internal, Wendi manages membership, the structure, and organization of board meetings, and helps plan social events.
A sophomore in the College, Wendi is studying Criminology. She is from Chicago, Illinois!

Secretary: Houston Jarvis
Houston keeps us organized by recording attendance at events, creating applications, and maintaining our listserv.
A Freshman in the College, Houston is undecided but plans on minoring in Hispanic Studies. Aside from BPLA, Houston is also the Programming Chair of BSL and a Robeson Cooper Scholar. She is from Linfield, PA.
A fun fact about her: She is a vegetarian!
Conference Chair: Joelis Paula
As Conference Chair, Joelis heads the planning of our annual Raymond Pace Alexander Conference.
A rising sophomore in the College, Joelis is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies and History. At Penn, she is involved in 4A as Co-External Chair! Joelis is from The Bronx.
Fun Fact: Joelis is (becoming) conversational in American Sign Language!

Kayla handles our budget and fundraising efforts.
A Sophomore in the College, Kayla is majoring in Criminology and minoring in Economics. Additionally, Kayla is a member of SPECTRUM. She is from Gaithersburg, MD.

Director of Marketing: Evonna Moody
Evonna is responsible for promoting events, managing our social media (check out @/upennbpla on Instagram and our Facebook page!), and creating all marketing materials.
A rising sophomore in the College, Evonna is studying Political Science and Legal Studies. At Penn, she is active in Beyond Arrests, SPEC, and Penn Political Review. She is from Hinesville, Georgia.
Evonna joined BPLA because she wanted to demystify what it means to be pre-law.

Alek manages our professional network with both firms & non-profits to ensure that our members know about and eventually secure internships and job opportunities.
A freshman in the College, Alek is studying PPE and Hispanic Studies. She is from Leesburg, Virginia.
