

Leah Elesinmogun – President
Leah Elesinmogun is a junior at The Wharton School, studying Finance, Legal Studies, and International Relations from Bowie, Maryland. On campus, she serves as the President of the Black Pre-Law Association, President of the Black Wharton Undergraduate Association, a Research Fellow in the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department, the Wharton Coordinator for Penn Leads The Votes, and a Teaching Assistant for Wharton 1010 and LGST 2180. She is passionate about strengthening the Black Pre-Law community through engaging events, valuable resources, and creating connections with alumni, law schools, policy organizations, and fellow pre-law students!

Jasmin Acosta Gomez – Vice President of Internal Affairs
Jasmin Acosta Gomez is a sophomore from Bronx, NY pursuing a B.A. in Urban Studies, with a minor in Legal Studies and History. As the Vice President of Internal Affairs, Jasmin is responsible for managing the internal affairs of the organization like membership and meetings. Aside from BPLA, Jasmin is a member of the BARS conference committee and a mentor for Positioned for Success. She is passionate about cultivating a space of inclusion and like-minded individuals on campus.

Menna Delva – Vice President of External Affairs
Menna Delva is a junior from Norwalk, CT pursuing a B.A. in Criminology with minors in Legal Studies & History with the Wharton School and Africana Studies. As Vice President of External Affairs, Menna is responsible for leading outreach initiatives with admissions officers, law schools, alumni, and more. Aside from BPLA, Menna serves as the Co-Chair of UMOJA, Co-Executive Editor of Penn Undergraduate Law Journal, and a fellow with the Office of Social Equity and Community. Beyond her academic pursuits, Menna enjoys volunteering in local communities and creative writing!

Elyana Alleyne – Secretary
Elyana Alleyne is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Law and Society from West Hartford, Connecticut. On campus she serves as the Secretary for the Black Pre-Law Association, Co-external Relations Chair for the NAACP, and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Students of Hip-Hop Legacy club. She is passionate about sustaining a welcoming and engaging Black Pre-Law community.

Herinah Asaah – Director of Professional Development
Rinah Asaah is a junior from Honolulu, Hawai’i pursuing a major in Psychology, minors in Philosophy, Music, and a certificate in Global Human Rights. She has been involved in BPLA since her sophomore year, as well as the DREAM Program (nonprofit youth service organization), the Africana Studies Undergraduate Advisory Board, the Penn Association for Gender Equity, and the Black Student League. As the Director of Professional Development, she is responsible for creating and sending out BPLA’s newsletter biweekly, managing BPLA’s LinkedIn, and providing support for members throughout the internship process.

Maya Grebowsky – Treasurer
Maya Grebowsky is a junior from Silver Spring, Maryland studying Political Science, with a minor in Legal Studies & History. Apart from being the Treasurer of BPLA, Maya is the Vice President of the Penn Forum for Legislative Action and a Fox Leadership Fellow at Nutritional Development Services. As Treasurer of BPLA, Maya handles the finances of the organization, specifically managing budget sheets for programming expenses, soliciting funds, managing fundraising endeavors, and managing financial recordkeeping.

Brad Ferdinand – Financial Sub Chair
Brad Ferdinand is a freshman from Philadelphia, PA studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, as well as Urban Studies. On campus, Brad serves as Financial Sub-Chair of the Black pre-law association, Finance Chair of UMOJA, and Freshman Liaison of the Carribean American Student Association. He’s extremely passionate about social equity, especially in regard to the law and financial investments. Brad hopes to cultivate a community of education and service through BPLA, creating a community that strives. for inclusive career progression.

Zora Edwards – Director of Marketing
Zora Edwards is a sophomore from Miami, Florida studying Communications, Political Science, and Consumer Psychology. She has been involved in BPLA since her Freshman year as well as the Black Wharton Undergraduate Association. As Director of Marketing, Zora is responsible for creating all marketing materials and promoting events concerning the group. She is also responsible for updating and maintaining the website and all social media platforms.

Deborah Pierre – Conference Chair
Deborah Pierre is a sophomore from Leesburg, FL, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics at the Wharton School, with concentrations in Legal Studies and Business Ethics, as well as Business Economics and Public Policy. As the Conference Co-Chair of the Sadie T.M. Alexander Conference, she leads efforts to honor the legacy of the first Black woman to graduate from Penn Law by organizing impactful programming that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in various sectors of law. In addition to her role with BPLA, Deborah serves as the Vice President of Corporate Development for Black Wharton. She is deeply passionate about social advocacy and is dedicated to uplifting local communities.

Jedrek Kumi – Conference Chair
Jedrek Kumi is a freshman from Union, NJ enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Economics and Law & Society. On BPLA’s Executive Board, he serves as a Conference Co-Chair for the Sadie TM Alexander Conference. He is also a mentor for the PEAP Mentorship Program and an active member of the Ghanaian community at Penn. Jedrek’s attitude towards serving his community and maintaining a standard of excellence aims to provide black pre-law students with a tangible example that despite systemic barriers they can succeed in their aspirations and expose them to various resources to do so.

Tiyya Geiger – Freshman Engagement Chair
Tiyya Geiger is a first year in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Political Science and History from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. On campus, she serves as the Freshman Engagement Chair of the Black Pre-Law Association and mentor for ASE Academy. She also serves as a deputy editor and opinion columnist for the Daily Pennsylvanian, and is a board member for Penn’s Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Association. She is passionate about connecting and informing the freshman class about pre-law events and holding meaningful conversations surrounding legal equity.

Lauren Joseph – Community Service Chair
Lauren Joseph is a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Philosophy and Health & Societies from Miami, Florida. On campus, she serves as the Community Service Chair of the Black Pre-Law Association and mentor for ASE Academy. She is passionate about bringing service to BPLA through meaningful collaborations and civic engagement.

Sesina Birhanemaskel – Sub Freshman Engagement Chair
Sesina Birhanemaskel is a first-year student in the College of Arts and Sciences, planning to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with a Real Estate minor at The Wharton School. She is from Denver, Colorado, and is passionate about the intersections of law, global policy, and economic development. On campus, Sesina serves as the Freshman Engagement Chair for the Black Pre-Law Association, where she is dedicated to engaging the new class of Black pre-law students by fostering community, offering meaningful support, and connecting members with valuable academic and professional resources.
She is also involved in Black Wharton Consulting, the Education Committee for Penn UNICEF, and the Social Impact Committee for the Marketing Undergraduate Student Establishment (MUSE). Sesina hopes to pursue a career in international space law, combining her interests in legal systems, diplomacy, and innovation to help shape the future of global governance beyond Earth.

Avery Brobbey – XIII Blog Editor in Chief
Avery Brobbey is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences, studying Political Science and History from Akron, Ohio. On campus, she serves as the Secretary of Beyond Arrests: Rethinking Systemic Oppression, Section Director for the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project, a Robeson Cooper Scholar, the Head Peer Mentor for the Africana Summer Institute, Senior Deputy for Penn Dems, and External Chair for Penn Ghana. She is passionate about prison reform and expanding the Black Pre-Law community through insightful discussions, valuable journalism, and overall engagement with numerous other clubs, schools, and students.
